Música da Semana: Dr. Dog – Where’d All The Time Go

Dr. Dog

Ano de formação: 1999
Local: Filadélfia, EUA
Integrantes: Scott McMicken, Toby Leaman, Zach miller, Erick Slick, Frank McElroy.

Where’d All The Time Go (do álbum Shame, Shame – 2010)

Where’d all the time go?
It’s starting to fly.
See how the hands go;
Waving goodbye.

And you know I get so forgetful
when I look in your eyes.

Now she’s walking backwards
through a parade.
And I’m stuck in the shadow
blocking the shade.

And there ain’t no way to sweep up the mess that we’ve made
She gets dressed up like a pillow so she’s always in bed

Flowers for the sick and dead
She’s on the go, way too fast and way too slow
She’ll turn to stone at hospitals and funeral homes
and when the fog rises somebody sighs who is not in disguise anymore

There’s nothing to keep you
from falling in love.
It starts at the bottom
and comes from above.

Like pieces of a puzzle, like a hand in a glove
She gets dressed up like a pillow so she’s always in bed

Flowers for the sick and dead
She’s on the go, way too fast and way too slow
She’ll turn and stop at hospitals and funeral homes
and when the tide rises somebody sinks and is gone in the blink of an eye

Música da Semana: Los Campesinos – We’ve Got Your Back

Los Campesinos

Ano de formação: 2006
Local: Cardiff, País de Gales
Integrantes: Ellen, Gareth, Harriet, Neil, Ollie, Tom, Kim.

We’ve Got Your Back

On the dashboard assembled
Descending height order

Half a decade of Father’s Day
Gets her mother bought for, her mother passed on
Puppy eyes, nasty reaction
Doe eyes, you’re kidding yourself

I learned remedial Spanish from a toddler
Passenger’s seat of father’s taxi
Cussing in unison
Clutching the seats and distant hand writing
Filled with a sense of great disappointment
Doe eyes, you’re kidding yourself

So fucking on
So fucking forth
We’ve got your back, whatever that’s worth
If they ever told you to go (?) what would you do
I do not know
Every girl I ever kissed I was thinking of a pro footballer

Thought you should know

I’ve learned more from toilet walls
Than I’ve learned from these words of yours
Your feelings are buried in scriptures and fictions
It’s all in the words but I’m here for the pictures

(I’m sweating off the cheap notes on my thighs
They were for your benefit not mine)

So fucking on
So fucking forth
They’ve got your back whatever that’s worth
If they ever told you to (?) what would we do?
I do not know
If it wasn’t for the courage to ask for mercy what would we do?

Sometimes only you will know
We’re cementing old friends
Dismissing old foes
We’re throwing punches and ducking blows

Música da Semana: Editors – Munich

Editors

Ano de formação: 2002
Local: Birmingham, Inglaterra
Integrantes: Tom Smith, Chris Urbanowicz, Russ Leetch e Ed Lay.

Munich

I’m so glad I found this
I”m so glad I did
I’m so glad I found this
I’m so glad I did

People are fragile things
you should know by now
be careful what you put them through
people are fragile things
you should know by now
you’ll speak when you’re spoken to

It breaks when you don’t force it
It breaks when you don’t try
It breaks if you don’t force it
It breaks if you don’t try

People are fragile things
you should know by now
be careful what you put them through
people are fragile things
you should know by now
you’ll speak when you’re spoken to

With one hand you calm me
with one hand I’m steel

with one hand you calm me
with one hand I’m steel

People are fragile things
you should know by now
be careful what you put them through

Música da Semana: Built to Spill – Car

Buil to Spill

Ano de formação:
1992
Local: Idaho, USA
Integrantes: Doug Martsch, Scott Ploouf, Jim Roth, Brett Nelson e Brett Netson

Car

you get the car
I’ll get the night off
You’ll get the chance to take the world apart and figure out how it works
Don’t let me know what you find out
I need a car
You need a guide
Who needs a map
If I don’t die or worse I’m gonna need a nap
At best I’ll be asleep when you get back

I wanna see it when you find out what comets, stars, and moons are all about
I wanna see their faces turn to backs of heads and slowly get smaller
I wanna see it now

I want specifics on the general idea
I wanna think what I should know
Want you to do me what to show

I wanna see movies of my dreams
I wanna see movies of my dreams
I wanna see movies of my dreams
I wanna see movies of my dreams

I wanna see it when you get stoned on a cloudy breezy desert afternoon
I wanna see it untame itself and break its owner
I wanna see it now
I wanna see it now

Música da Semana: Wild Beasts – All The King’s Men

Wild Beasts

Ano de formação: 2004
Local: Kendal, Inglaterra
Integrantes: Hayden Thorpe (guitarra, voz), Ben Little (guitarra), Tom Fleming (baixo, voz)  e Chris Talbot (bateria, voz)

All The Kings Men

Watch me, watch me
The belle of the ball
my heart, my hand and everything I own
We are the boys with new shiny shoes
we’ve seen them all and we’ve chosen you

Now no one will find your limit
Girls from Roedean
Girls from Shipley
Girls from Hounslow
Girls from Whitby
You’re a candied queen
And let me show my darling what that means

Watch me, watch me
Whooaaaa ooooh oh

Hatch me, hatch me, a girl before
bouncing round behind the bedroom doors
And we are the boys
Who’ll drape you in jewels
Cut off your hair, and throw out your shoes

Cause baby, you won’t need them
where you’ll be girls astride me
Girls beneath me
Girls before me
Girls between me
You’re birthing machines
And let me show my darling what that means

hatch me! hatch me!
Wild Beasts Lyrics on anekatips.com

And baby, cause I’m evil
Iin all my dreams, girls who’ll clothe me
Girls who’ll feed me
Girls who want me
Girls who need me
All you pretty things waiting for somebody
Number my babies and my broken body
